The Section has sponsored two CPDs this year:

  1. The Concurrent Jurisdiction of Administrative Tribunals (Kris Gibson, Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP): A presentation of notable and recent case law from the Supreme Court of Canada, appellate and superior courts on the jurisdiction of arbitrators, tribunals and commissions in the area of labour relations, human rights and workers compensation.
  2. A Tribunal's view of the Charter: What has changed since R. v. Conway? (John Stefaniuk, Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP): A review of the Supreme Court of Canada's decision in R. v. Conway, 2010 SCC 22, as well as important decisions on the Charter jurisdiction of tribunals.
