Aboriginal Law

Join the Aboriginal Law Section to receive updates on emerging areas of the law, recent cases and new directions affecting Indigenous people in Manitoba. This may include topics such as duty to consult and accommodate, treaty and Aboriginal rights, Nation-to-nation relationships, labour relations, economic development, business structures on and off Reserve, and taxation issues. In keeping with the TRC Calls to Action, the Section will also explore the relationship between Aboriginal law and Indigenous legal traditions. This Section discusses new and important issues in Aboriginal law through CPDs and forums with Judges; along with hosting networking events for our Section members. The Section offers an opportunity to stay updated on the legal, political, social and economic developments and opportunities affecting Indigenous people in Canada.
